Fans of the reality TV star didn’t like it.

Kim Kardashian has lost around 150,000 followers on Instagram after posting a picture of Melania Trump on inauguration day last Monday.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star found herself in the middle of online controversy once again when she received backlash after sharing a photo of the First Lady of the United States dressed in a black and white outfit to her Instagram Stories.

The picture was a repost from Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration ceremony, with Melania wearing a now-iconic black Adam Lippes suit paired with a wide-brimmed Eric Javits hat.

According to the New York Post, data gathered by an influencer marketing agency showed that Kardashian’s follower count fell by 144,963 since the photo was uploaded.

Kardashian also reportedly lost 9,553 followers on X after posting the image.

The 44-year-old’s post prompted some of her Instagram followers to respond negatively, with one writing: “Girl…. sold out for far right MAGA propaganda.”

One other user commented: “Y’all out here supporting Kim Kardashian and she’s out here praising Melania.”

“Guys unfollow, don’t watch their show and don’t buy their products. Hit them where it hurts,” another social media commenter wrote.

Though Kardashian is known to lean Democratic, her political affiliations have always been nuanced.

In 2018, she leveraged her friendship with Ivanka Trump to convince then-President Donald Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a woman convicted of a nonviolent drug offense. She later participated in discussions at the White House on clemency and prison reform.

While she refrained from endorsing any presidential candidates in 2020, she did celebrate Joe Biden’s win with a photo of him and Vice President Kamala Harris, captioned with three blue hearts.

It seems she has swung her allegiance back to the Trump camp with her latest social media activity.
