Kellogg’s tried to change a classic Peep Show joke about Crunchy Nut Cornflakes

Remember the episode of Peep Show with Gog?

(It is also the episode of Peep Show where Mark makes friends with the racist).

Gog was the old school friend of Jeremy, who Jez convinces to let him do the music for his short film. Only Gog refuses to pay the agreed fee, so Jez and Mark and Super Hans go around to his flat with a baseball bat to get him to pay up.

When Super Hans is trying to intimidate Gog, he tips a packet of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes on the floor, telling Gog that the fancy cereal is “pretty expensive, I recall.”

It turns out Kellogg’s wanted to make a change to that line. Robert Webb tweeted a little behind the scenes nugget, telling the story.

Fun fact: Kellogg’s suggested a line change in the Gog Crunchy Nut Cornflakes intimidation scene. They wanted “very expensive as I recall” to become “ludicrously tasty as I recall”. Ch4 politely declined. Kellogg’s gave permission anyway.

"Ludicrously tasty" is a slogan that Kellogg's have used to advertise various products in the Crunchy Nut range. The cast of Peep Show definitely watch a lot of TV and would probably know that, but commenting on the price seems more in character for Super Hans.
