Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill has climbed the chart to number one 37 years after it was first released, arguably because of Netflix standout Stranger Things.

Kate Bush's resurgence came after Running Up That Hill was included in a Stranger Things scene. While the song was only featured once, the hordes of TikTok adopted it as their new favourite sound. From here the song rose to fame once more, slowly climbing the chart to unseat the likes of Lizzo, Jack Harlow and eventually Harry Styles for the top spot.
Reacting to the brilliant news, one person Tweeted: "That's #StrangerThings for you. Always been a great song!!"
"Forget Hot Girl Summer. Forget Feral Girl Summer. It’s Kate Bush Summer. If you need me I’ll be taking my shoes off and throwing them in a lake," another joked.
Kate Bush shared a rare statement with the world after the song's sudden appearance in the charts, she said: "You might've heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of 'Stranger Things' has recently been released on Netflix. It features the song, 'Running Up That Hill' which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show - I love it too!

"Because of this, Running Up That Hill is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at No. 8. It's all really exciting! Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song.
"I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July. Best wishes, Kate"
