Kanye West – how wild will he go at Glastonbury?

Lia Nicholls

Kanye West is one of the most controversial Glastonbury bookings ever.

More than 133,000 signatures are on a petition to say he shouldn’t be headlining on Saturday, and death threats were sent to festival organisers Michael and Emily Eavis, who have rightly stuck to their guns.

The mind boggles that the man behind the petition, Neil Lonsdale, has never actually been to Glastonbury. And probably never will now, even if he wanted to.

Despite the Yeezus backlash, only four requests for ticket refunds were made in the week following the announcement.

However, controversy will rumble on until the night of reckoning. Even though there will be haters in the crowd – many no doubt launching urine – they’ll be there because everyone wants to know what West will do next…

Emily Eavis says she knows what he has in store and, “what he’s talking about at the moment is very exciting. I think he’s going to take it big.”

The answer is he could do anything.

Here are 10 things Yeezus has done before and could easily do again – and we cannot wait:

– Storm off stage because of lighting issues

– Diss the President

– Claim that AIDS is a “man-made disease placed in Africa just like crack was placed in the black community to break up the Black Panthers”

– Perform lying down

– Wear a mask

– Be joined on stage by Rihanna for a surprise performance

– Rant for six minutes about a failed corporation deal

– Bring on a 30-strong crew for song All Day

– Dedicate a song to newly pregnant wife Kim Kardashian

– Stop the gig to shout ‘Stand Up!’ at a kid in a wheelchair
