The actor appeared on the show to promote his new film.
Given the fact that he has a new film to promote, Murder on the Orient Express, it wasn't peculiar to see Johnny Depp making an appearance on the Graham Norton Show.
In fact, the star of Edward Scissorhands and Blow has frequently appeared on the chat show to discuss his career.
As reported previously, Depp's appearance did offend some viewers due to the recent legal proceedings between the actor and his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
In 2016, Heard was granted a restraining order against Depp, as court documents at the time revealed Heard's claim that: "During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me."
He denies these claims.
As for Depp's recent appearance on the red carpet, sources close to the actor have refuted any claims that he was drunk while promoting his new film.
Depp was joined by his co-stars Kenneth Branagh, Dame Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer and Josh Gad on the couch, and some people were wondering if the actor was still under the influence of alcohol.
Speaking to E!, sources close to Depp said: "These reports are completely false. Johnny was not drunk at the premiere. He came straight from set to the premiere. His security was maneuvering him around the carpet as he has done for years."
