This could be a very interesting addition to the cast.

Just ahead of the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, some news about the sequel has been released. Deadline are reporting that Johnny Depp has signed up to star alongside Eddie Redmayne in the second installment of the soon-to-be massive movie franchise.

Eddie will reprise his role as the lead character Newt Scamander but it’s not yet known what part Depp will play. There is speculation that he might make a tiny appearance in the first movie before being introduced properly in the second.

We’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled on November 18 when the first movie is released.

For now, what we know is that the franchise will be set long before Harry Potter ever stepped foot in Hogwarts and before the reign of Lord Voldemort. Newt (Eddie) loses some magical creatures in New York (never a good idea) and must try to find them before any No-Maj (non magical folk) sees them and uncovers the magical world.

The imminent first movie in the series was written by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, who helmed the final four Harry Potter films.
