Depp was mobbed by fans in the north east
Johnny Depp was onstage in Gateshead on Thursday night as the actor made his first public appearance following the verdict in his court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.
In another appearance alongside
Jeff Beck on the latest stage of his UK tour, the
Pirates of the Caribbean star delighted fans at the Sage venue.
He greeted more than 200 ecstatic fans outside the venue, who screamed and chanted his name before he was ushered into a car and rushed away by security.
But some fans didn't give up, chasing the vehicle according to the
Mirror.

During the gig, Beck revealed what the actor's next career move was going to be, announcing that the pair have worked on an album together which will be released next month.
In a statement following his win in the high-profile defamation case, Depp had said he was looking forward to "a new chapter" in his life.
Depp himself did not mention his court win whilst onstage, but Beck did, saying: "What a result!"
He told the crowd: "I met this guy five years ago and we've never stopped laughing since. We actually made an album. I don't know how it happened. It will be out in July."

One fan at the venue told the
BBC that Depp "looked really happy" and "seemed to be in a great place."
Another said it was "mind-boggling" that he was in Gateshead.
It was already well-known that Depp was in the north-east though, despite his
defamation trial with Heard concluding.
As the jury was returning to the Fairfax County Courthouse on Wednesday evening, Depp was
spotted in a Newcastle pub, with other pictures showing him
hanging out with Sam Fender.
