‘An added surprise was Dave Franco’s comedy role that hilariously worked so well’

Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg’s new vampire film has shot to the top of the Netflix chart, with many fans taking to social media to share their thoughts.

Day Shift follows the life of Bud Jablonski (Jamie Foxx), who is described as a “hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter.” But Jablonski’s pool cleaning job is a front because he’s actually hunting vampires alongside an international union of like-minded killers.

The supporting cast includes Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, Scott Adkins, and Zion Broadnax.

While the film may be at the top spot, Rotten Tomatoes currently designates it with a 63 per cent audience score and a critic score of 58 per cent.

The flick is directed by J.J. Perry, who has previously worked as a stunt coordinator on action films like The Fast and The Furious franchise, John Wick and Bloodshot. Day Shift is also produced by John Wick director Chad Stahelski and written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten, who also worked on John Wick and Netflix’s own Army of the Dead.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts about the film.

One person wrote: “The funniest, jumpiest action packed, intense vampire hunting movie. Jaime Foxx made sure the comedy rolled along full speed w/ all action, an added surprise was Dave Franco’s comedy role that hilariously worked so well w/ Jaime.”

The Hollywood Handle offered a preview of their review, which read: “Day Shift is a fun and entertaining film with some of the best action from a Netflix Original Film. The buddy cop duo between Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco is great, its campy but still good nonetheless.”

At least you know what you’re watching tonight!
