Idris Elba first out the gates for exclusive Netflix films

Idris Elba will be the first actor used to entice film fans to the exclusive Netflix movies.

London-born Elba plays a warlord in the drama Beasts Of No Nation, an adaptation of Uzodinma Iweala’s 2005 novel, of the same name.It will be the first film customers will be able to stream via Netflix on October 16, the same day it is shown in selected cinemas. The global success of series House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black is why Netflix have chosen to extend their grip on the movie business. Elba, who has been cast for Star Trek and suggested as the next Bond, is directed by True Detective's Cary Fukunaga, another reason Netflix were embroiled in a bidding war, eventually spending £7.7million for the worldwide rights.
