Holly Willoughby still 'incredibly angry and upset' with Phillip Schofield

She will never ‘speak publicly’ about him again

Holly Willoughby is still “incredibly angry and upset” with Phillip Schofield, according to sources.

The presenter returned to work this week for the first time since Phillip’s resignation from ITV after he confessed to having an affair with a much younger colleague.

Holly then addressed the situation on the show, asking the public how they were feeling and reassured viewers that everyone on all sides was being looked after.

This statement was quickly met with a backlash from viewers, who labelled it ‘insincere’ and felt she had thrown her former colleague and friend under the bus.

Sources are now claiming that Holly is still angry with Phillip and has decided that she won’t address the situation publicly again.

“This is the only time Holly will ever speak about Phil and what has happened,” a source told The Sun.

“She still feels incredibly angry and upset by his actions and is very much still trying to get her head around it.

They added: “She is angry and that will take a long time for her to come to terms with.”

Following her statement on This Morning on Monday, Holly received some backlash from fans as many felt her comments were “insincere”.

One viewer wrote on Twitter: “That speech was… underwhelming. Holly kind of confirmed there is no love lost between her and Phil, she seems still mad at him.

“But from HER side, she did not say how much she knew. She could have denied having any knowledge. Her statement was very economical. #ThisMorning.”

While another said: “That was one of the most insincere things i have ever witnessed in my life #ThisMorning.”

And viewing figures have shown that immediately after Holly’s statement on the show, This Morning lost 200,000 viewers.
