Here’s the latest bizarre trailer for Louis Theroux’s controversial Scientology movie

Holy moly.

This is sure to be one of the most-talked about movies of the year.

My Scientology Movie – which sees documentarian Louis Theroux tackle the controversial religion – just got another weirdass official trailer, and from the looks of things, it’s going to be a doozy.

This film revolves around the self-proclaimed “Baddest Ass Dude in Scientology”, Marty Rathbun, and features a load of dramatisations based on alleged scenarios people claim to have encountered in the Church.

Theroux tried to reach out to Church leader David Miscavige to be part of his film. Miscavige refused, so that’s when Theroux started re-creating alleged experiences revealed by former members to try to better understand the inner workings of the secretive organisation.

There were fears that the movie wouldn’t be shown in Ireland due to our blasphemy laws, but that has since been denied.

The movie is out in the UK on October 10, but fans can catch a nationwide live broadcast Q&A with the legendary documentarian and bis long-term friend (and host of probably the best podcast on the internet) Adam Buxton a few days earlier on the 7th. The film will be screened in selected cinemas on that day.

In the meantime, don’t miss Theroux’s new TV documentary this Sunday night, in which he revisits his infamous Jimmy Savile interview.
