Jack Kesy
Deadline reports that the film will focus on a younger version of Hellboy and will see him "stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia with a rookie BPRD [Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense] agent".
"There they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man," the plot synopsis reads.
Along with Kesy, the cast for the movie also includes Adeline Rudolph (Netflix's Resident Evil) and Jefferson White (Yellowstone), Deadline also reports.
The character of Hellboy was summoned from Hell to Earth as a baby by Nazi occultists before being rescued by the Allied Forces and raised as a human. He later works for the BPRD helping to keep the world safe from paranormal threats.
Though the first two Hellboy movies directed by Guillermo del Toro are beloved, the 2019 take on the character received poor reviews from critics and was a box office bomb.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man does not have a release date as of yet but is due to shoot in the coming weeks in Bulgaria.
