The actor fell ill last Tuesday and was rushed to hospital

Jamie Foxx reportedly remains in hospital a week after suffering a “medical complication” that saw him rushed to hospital.

People confirmed Monday that the 55-year-old star is still hospitalised at a medical facility in Georgia where he is undergoing tests.

Foxx was taken ill on 11 April in Atlanta where he is filming his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action, alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

His family released a statement the following day, but did not specify what was wrong with Foxx.

A source told People on Friday that Foxx was steadily improving.

In a statement, Corrine Foxx wrote: “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she continued.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

At the time, sources confirmed to TMZ that Foxx’s unnamed condition was serious enough to require him to go to a hospital.

CNN reported Friday that doctors were conducting tests to determine what led to Foxx’s health scare and said he remained under observation.

“They are running tests and still trying to figure out what exactly happened,” an insider reportdly said.

Despite Foxx’s improving condition, there’s no indication yet on when he might be released or return to filming.

One source told TMZ on Wednesday last week that Foxx is, “communicating now, and that’s good news”.
