What do you think?
A brand new series of First Dates started on Channel 4 last night.
For the first time it changed the set up and moved to France for a special First Dates Hotel where they brought singletons to a beautiful resort to go on their first dates.
The idea was that they would go on a first date and have the option of staying over and meeting again the next day for a second date.
This new part of the show is where some of the criticism came from – viewers thought it was encouraging the singletons to have one night stands.
The camera even showed one couple going to the same room at the end of the evening.
People took to Twitter to voice their opinion:
Nice hotel.and great for one night stands and then not see each other again #FirstDatesHotel

This hotel thing is surely going to encourage ALOT more 1 night stands with no further second date ? #firstdateshotel

I'll be awfully disappointed if this turns a bit shaggy and everybody rushes into bumping uglies #firstdateshotel

Guess #FirstDates producers got tired waiting for daters to shag at the table and decided to force 48 hours abroad on them. #firstdateshotel

Channel 4 should just rename #firstdateshotel as "First Dates – Now We Get To See Them Have Sex."
