FIFA 16’s official playlist has been released

How many of these have you heard of?

Simon Lloyd

With the launch fast approaching, every passing day appears to bring more and more FIFA 16 news.

Details of new skills, the fastest players and even how to p*ss your mates off with the latest goal celebrations have already been leaked, but the latest announcement is a little different.

Gameplay aside, ever since EA Sports incorporated Blur’s Song 2 in the 1998 edition, FIFA’s music playlist has always been subject of speculation in the approach to a new game.

Now, the time has come to shed some light on the playlist that will accompany FIFA 16, as we finally learn who will follow in the footsteps of Muse, Radiohead, Gorillaz and this classic from Fatboy Slim.

Tracks from Disclosure, Bastille, Beck and (JOE favourites) Foals all feature and will be joined by a host of other artists from around the world.

Steve Schnur, worldwide executive of music and marketing at EA Sports, seems pretty chuffed about it all.

“FIFA has traditionally been gaming’s foremost international showcase for new artists of every genre,” he announced.

“With FIFA 16, we’ve once again created a soundtrack that will enable millions of fans worldwide to discover new music. Artists from Norway, Portugal, Colombia, the UK, Brazil and America do more than just enhance a great game.”

There might well be a few unfamiliar names on the full playlist (which can be found below), we guarantee these songs will be rattling around in the heads of all FIFA player for much of the next year.

And if you haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, here’s the latest trailer.
