Emmerdale boss delivers bad news on killer Sarah storyline

In their very last showdown, Sarah faced Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker), a prime antagonist of the show, and gets into an altercation with Sarah, in which Todd gets shoved and hits her head on a table.

Todd dies almost instantly as blood gushes from her head. Sarah is now a murderer, and Charity a witness. 

The Dingles aren’t one to follow the law, however murder isn’t one of their routinely committed crimes. 

Emmerdale boss, Laura Shaw, says the fall between Sarah and Charity is going to be ‘seismic’.

“They are locked in a secret and that’s going to be long-lasting and going forward, that’s going to affect their relationship,” she said.

Shaw continues stating: ‘obviously, there’s still the baby secret to come out at some point.’

What is the ‘baby secret’?

The baby secret, one that could very well destroy the Dingles, in short: Charity’s surrogate pregnancy, during which it was believed she was carrying Sarah and Jacob’s baby via IVF.

It turned out that the pregnancy was the result of a drunken one-night-stand with Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Sarah is still unaware of this and fully believes she is raising her own child, however like in many soaps, she is bound to find out the truth.

‘It’s got to happen at some point, and how will that affect the story with regards to the murder and Todd? You’ll have to wait and see,’ Laura told The Mirror.

The good news is that we know the secret will come out, however, it is unknown how long it will take. 

Nonetheless, with Todd’s bullying and acts of sexual violence towards Charity and Sarah’s husband, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), we are still not out of the woods.

Sarah’s future looks bleak, carrying a deep secret along with Charity, with only the pair knowing what has happened to Todd.

On top of that, she is bound to find out about her daughter Leyla’s true origins, as well as her own grandmother’s betrayal.

Sadly, all we can do is watch.
