EastEnders viewers are angry at the ‘racism’ on last night’s show

James Dawson

Mick Carter, what’s your problem?

He might usually be the show’s lovable landlord, but viewers were less than impressed by Danny Dyer’s character on last night’s episode of EastEnders.

Social media users accused the show of ‘casual racism’ after Mick called up neighbour Masood Ahmed to ask for tips on making a curry.

Masood asked why it was him he had come to, Mick said: “Cos you’re the main man, ain’t ya? Anything Indian…”

“I’m from Pakistan,” Masood reminded him.

But Mick hit back: “Alright, what you telling me? They ain’t got chicken korma in Pakistan?”

“You won’t find a chicken korma in the whole of South Asia, mate,” Masood said.

Mick joked: “What is it? An eleventh commandment, is it? Thou shalt not eat korma?”

But viewers weren’t happy.
