Simon Cowell is reportedly “unlikely” to return to the X Factor live shows tonight after his health scare this week.

The music mogul missed the first of the live shows this weekend following an incident at his London home.

The 58-year-old was rushed to the hospital on Friday after he fell down the stairs in the early hours of the morning.

There had been hopes that he would be able to return for Sunday night’s show, but according to reports, that is now looking unlikely.

A source told Mirror Online:

“The decision is not 100 per cent yet but it’s very likely he’ll sit out this one on doctor’s advice.

“Alesha Dixon is ready to step in as a substitute judge if necessary.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judge had previously appeared on this year’s series as she stepped in for Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger during the auditions.

Tonight’s live show will see Simon’s category, the Groups, compete against Nicole’s Overs after the running order was swapped following the longtime judge’s absence.

The Boys and the Girls categories sang for survival on Saturday night instead, which saw American singer Spencer Sutherland become the first person to be axed from the competition.
