This is very sweet.

Declan Donnelly, of Ant and Dec fame, has opened up about Ant’s time in rehab saying that it was ‘weird’ but ‘for the best’.

His reason for referring to it like that was because not only were they not working together for a period of time, they also didn’t see each other, which is rare for the duo.

As we know, Ant checked himself into rehab last year after he got addicted to pain medication for a knee injury. The addiction to prescription pain medication and bouts of depression contributed to substance and alcohol abuse.

Speaking about their time apart, he told The Daily Star:

“We were apart for longer than we’ve ever been before but it was for the best.

Ant got well and we were back on it and back out in Australia and if anything it’s just made us realise how much we enjoy doing what we’re doing and it’s really put things in perspective for us and put our priorities in order.

We’ve not worked apart since we were 13 years old. It’s weird, it’s just odd and even when we’re not working we hang out together, we live in the same street, we play golf together.”

Ant and Dec rose to fame after they appeared in the UK show Byker Grove as teenagers. Since then they have fronted various shows like I’m A Celeb and Saturday Night Takeaway.
