Deceased actor Adam West snubbed from Oscars ‘In Memoriam’ montage

The actor played Batman in the 1960s and the mayor in Family Guy, but also starred in a number of movies.

Adam West, was not honoured at the Academy Award's memorial segment, much to the ire of his fans. The veteran actor died last June aged 88 of leukaemia and was known for his time in the ABC Batman series, which ran for three seasons from 1966 to 1968. He said that he played the role “for laughs, but in order to do [that], one had to never think it was funny. You just had to pull on that cowl and believe that no one would recognise you.” Although he may be better known to younger readers as the man who voiced Mayor Adam West in Family Guy.
