Some of the biggest stars in the UK were out on the red carpet last night for the BAFTA awards, however, not all were winners on the night.

One person who was though was Dec Donnelly and the crew of Britain’s Got Talent who took home the top prize in their category for Best Entertainment Programme.

But unlike previous years, Dec decided not to take to the mic to make a speech on behalf of the team, instead of leaving it to executive producer, Amelia Brown.

“We have the best panel,” Brown said.

“The best hosts and it’s wonderful to make this show so thank you very much.”

Dec was noticeable without his longtime co-presenter Ant McPartlin, who has taken a step away from his responsibilities on screen after he was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

However, Ant did receive a shout out in a compilation video looking back on some of the TV highlights of the last year, showing clips from the last season of I’m a Celebrity.

Dec walked the red carpet a little earlier in the night with his wife Ali, who is expecting the couple’s first child.

Last month, a source close to the Dec, 42, and Ali, 39, said the pair were “delighted to be expecting – especially since they have been trying for some time”.

“They have both always wanted a family but worried that it might not happen for them,” the same source added in conversation with The Sun.

“They have been keeping the pregnancy a closely guarded secret, but now that Ali is safely over 12 weeks, they are starting to let people know”.

Dec and Ali were together for 18 months before marrying in August 2015.
