Danny Dyer throws EastEnders future into doubt by dropping big hint he’s about to quit the soap

Now this would be a huge exit.

EastEnders favourite Danny Dyer has thrown his future on the soap into doubt after dropping a big hint he may be about to quit.

The 39-year-old has been a big hit with fans since joining the soap in 2013 as Mick Carter. However his contract on the show is due to run out later this year.

Reports late last year indicated bosses on the show where preparing a lucrative new contract and were keen to keep Dyer on.

However it seems after spending years typecast as a cockney hard man, the actor is now keen to move on and play different roles.

When asked at the National Television Awards about whether he plans to continue on EastEnders, Dyer told The Sun:

“We’ll have to see then. Four years is a long time. It’s been really rewarding but there’s other stuff out there.

“I’d love to show other sides to me, I loved theatre and all that.”

The EastEnders star’s contract is reported to end in October, so if soap bosses can’t convince him to put pen to paper, we’d expect something rather dramatic to happen to Mick around then.
