While it received mixed reviews upon its release, the film has garnered a strong cult following.

With movies like John Wick, Point Break, Speed and The Matrix, Keanu Reeves’ filmography is very impressive.

That said, if you’re looking for a flick starring the actor that JOE previously described as “massively underrated”, you can check out Constantine, which has just been added to Prime Video.

Based on DC’s Hellblazer comic book, the 2005 film sees Reeves play the title character of John Constantine, a cynical exorcist in Los Angeles who teams up with a policewoman (Rachel Weisz) to investigate her twin sister’s death.

In the process, he discovers that demons are trying to break through to the human world.

Directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) and featuring a stacked supporting cast including Djimon Hounsou, Peter Stormare, Shia LaBeouf and Tilda Swinton, Constantine received mixed reviews upon its release.

That said, while it currently holds a 46% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it has gone on to garner a strong cult following since it came out, perhaps on account of its talented ensemble and much darker tone than most other superhero movies.

In 2019, Reeves told Variety that he was still interested in the possibility of reprising the character.

“I’ve always wanted to play John Constantine again. I just love that world… and I love that character,” the Hollywood icon said.

Three years later, a sequel was officially announced with Reeves and Lawrence set to return. The project remains in development.

The original Constantine is streaming on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland right now.
