Calum Scott is winning right now.
His album, Only Human, is due out tomorrow (March 9th) and is currently riding high on the pre-orders chart on both iTunes and Amazon, and he’s also just released a video for “You Are the Reason”, his new duet with Leona Lewis.
Produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Kano, Stormzy, Ellie Goulding) and written by Scott, Jon Maguire and Corey James Sanders, the newly revamped version of his original solo hit is fast approaching 110 million worldwide streams.
“Working with Leona was a dream come true,” says Scott. “As a fan, I first remember watching her on TV before going on to grace the globe with her incredibly beautiful voice. Now having the honour of working with her on one of my own songs is completely surreal and the passion and raw emotion she brings to our duet makes it even more special to me. I can still hardly believe that we did it.”
For Lewis, she remembers the day Scott sent her the song: “I sat listening [to it] at home and had it on repeat. It’s one of those powerful songs that touches your heart and [is] such a beautiful ballad – everyone knows I love singing them! Calum’s performance on it is stunning and I loved being able to join him to make this duet version.”
