Cranston returns as Water White for unusual appearance

Despite saying several times he was ‘done’ with the meth-cooking teacher, who became responsible for the murders of several people on and around the Mexican border, Cranston will reprise the character in a New Mexico anti-littering campaign advert.

The ‘Breaking Bad Habits’ campaign sees Cranston as White, delivering a serious message to viewers to ‘keep litter out of my territory’.

Furthermore, the ad was created and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, meaning it is littered with references to the show.

Gilligan said: “Hopefully, folks who see this commercial will take Walt’s hint and think twice before they toss their trash across our beautiful state.

“Otherwise, Heisenberg just might come after them!”

Cranston commented: “Most public service campaigns work using common sense and empathy… that’s not what we did here!

“Walter White represents a certain threat in the message… but all in good fun.”

The American crime drama, which was set and filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico ran from 2008 to 2013.

The show received numerous awards, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, eight Satellite Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, two Peabody Awards, two Critics' Choice Awards, four Television Critics Association Awards and one British Academy Television Award.

In 2013, Breaking Bad entered the Guinness World Records as the most critically acclaimed TV show of all time.

Cranston reprised the character in the prequel series Better Call Saul but said: “Everything should come to an end. Everything’s cyclical, our lives are cyclical. The seasons, trees, everything.

“So, it’s okay to have a beginning, middle and end, and then let it go. I’m proud of what we did.”

Previously, Cranston played White in another commercial as he teamed up with co-star Aaron Paul for a Popcorners Super Bowl commercial, which played around with the world fans became accustomed to in the six seasons of the show.
