Brendan Fraser gets emotional

He’s been described as the “purest of souls.”

Brendan Fraser seemed to well up when he was told by a fan that the internet is backing him over his recently announced role in Martin Scorsese’s new project.

Fraser will be starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro in the forthcoming movie Killers of the Flower Moon.

And one lucky fan got the opportunity to speak to Fraser about it in an exchange that left her even more mesmerised by the Mummy star.

TikToker Lindley (@littlelottiecosplay) spoke to Fraser after making a “very last minute meet-and-greet purchase” through GalaxyCon Live, a platform that connects fans with celebrities via video calls.

During the chat, Fraser admitted that he was “a little nervous” about the prospect of working alongside industry heavyweights, DiCaprio and De Niro.

“I think I might be sick! A little anxious. I mean, it’s going to be fun, but I’m like [pretends to chew fingernails],” he said.

Lindley replies: “You’ve got this. You’ve got this. Just know that the internet is so behind you. We’re so supportive. There are so many people out there who love you, and we’re rooting for you. And we can’t wait to see what you do next.”

At this point, Fraser star takes a swig of water, and seems to get a bit choked up, before finally saying: “Shucks, ma’am.”

Lindley posted footage of their exchange with the caption: “Proof that Brendan Fraser is the purest of souls.”

The video has been viewed 1.3 million times and has racked up 309.8k likes on the site. It has also been shared widely on other social media platforms.

Lindley also posted the clip on her Instagram, writing: “Thank you @galaxyconlive for making this dream come true. THE MUMMY has been such a huge part of my life, so being able to meet Brendan Fraser is a memory I will treasure forever.

“And if anyone needs proof that this man is the purest of souls, here it is! He came ready with a rose, a hat-change, and as soon as he saw what I was wearing, he said ‘Evie, the years have been good to you!’

Just the sweetest man, and pardon my awkwardness, but I wanted to let him know how much the internet loves him, in case he was not already aware.
