Sharon Horgan, co-creator and star of Bad Sisters, has given a hopeful update regarding a potential third season of the hit comedy thriller.
The Irish series streaming on Apple TV+ wrapped up its second season last December - around which time, Horgan said she thought that the show was "done".
Speaking a couple of weeks later on the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) awards' red carpet last weekend - where she was joined by her co-stars Eva Birthistle, Michael Smiley and Sarah Greene - Horgan appears to have changed her mind.
Asked what she could say about a third season of Bad Sisters, she told press: "Nothing yet. It's all under embargo."
On whether any ideas were percolating for a potential plot, Horgan replied: "I think about plots all the time."
Birthistle and Greene also joked that they pitch "terrible" and "unworkable" ideas at their creator, before Smiley added: "We might do it on ice."
The four were also asked what their dream casting choice would be in terms of a new antagonist for season three.
In response, Horgan said: "I'm really liking Sebastian Stan at the moment. Everything he's doing is good and exciting.
"Who else? Javier Bardem, he would be good."
Greene suggested Andrew Scott, while pointing at the fellow IFTA attendee. This was as Birthistle added Meryl Streep or "all of the Skarsgårds."
Also on the night, JOE asked Horgan about starring in Amanda: A Coming of Age Horror, an upcoming limited series about Amanda Knox.
Created by K.J. Steinberg, the Irish actress will play Amanda Knox's mother Edda Mellas in the show, which will centre on "Knox's harrowing journey after being wrongfully imprisoned for her roommate's murder, her battle to prove her innocence and regain her freedom".
Speaking about the project, Horgan said: "It's been good. It's completely different from anything I've done. But I think that's a good thing, to do stuff you haven't done before.
"I can't tell you too much about it. But I'm still doing it. I'm still filming."
