An extremely tense sci-fi thriller movie is airing on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

If you like Black Mirror, this is a must-watch.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Monday, 3 February) is Await Further Instructions, an extremely tense sci-fi horror thriller from 2018.

The film revolves around an already strained Christmas family gathering that gets even more stressful when the clan finds themselves trapped inside their house by a mysterious black substance.

This is as their TV begins broadcasting cryptic and increasingly sinister instructions.

The sci-fi horror thriller earned strong reviews upon release – 81% on Rotten Tomatoes – with its claustrophobic bottle setting, societal commentary and depiction of the uneasy relationship between humans and technology being singled out for praise.

In fact, several critics draw comparisons between Await Further Instructions and the hit Netflix anthology series Black Mirror.

Given that the latter’s seventh season is on the way, the movie may whet your appetite for the show’s return.

Await Further Instructions is airing on TV tonight/tomorrow morning on Legend at 2.55am so we’d advise recording it.

The film is also available to rent for £1.99 on Apple TV.

Here are the other movies on TV tonight:
