He was charged with drink driving on the 21st of March.

Saturday Night Takeaway host Ant McPartlin is expected to plead guilty when he appears at Wimbledon Magistrates Court this morning to face a charge of drink driving after being arrested after a crash three weeks ago.

He was found to be over the legal limit following a roadside breathalyser after an accident that involved three cars in Richmond, west London. The 42-year-old had been originally been scheduled to appear at in court on April 4th, but the hearing was adjourned.

A friend of the presenter has told The Sun the following: “His legal team got the court date delayed once because he had just entered rehab… he knows he has to face the music. The plan at this stage is for him to plead guilty. He is obviously gutted about the whole thing and wants to focus on getting better.

“He has a lot to do to prove himself again. Hopefully this is the first step.”

Following his arrest McPartlin has since taken a hiatus from his presenting duties on Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent, leaving close friend and co-host Declan Donnelly to continue solo for the time being.
