Americans won’t see Oscars red carpet live because of Ryan Seacrest backlash

James Dawson

It’s reportedly feared what might be said to the E! host following disturbing allegations made against him.

Viewers of E! in America will reportedly see tonight’s red carpet on a 30-second delay due to accusations made against host Ryan Seacrest.

The news comes after his former employee, Suzie Hardy, told Variety that the 43-year-old host sexually assaulted her  – grinding his erect penis against her while he was only wearing underwear, groping her vagina and slapping her so hard on the bottom that she suffered for hours from a visible welt.

Although a five-second delay is common on ‘live’ TV,  30-seconds would be unusually long, and an insider told Deadline that the plan is to pull the plug if a celebrity calls him out in light of the allegation.

Following a number of sexual harassment allegations being made against prominent men in Hollywood, both the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement have taken part in protests at award ceremonies in the run up the the Academy Awards.

However, the E! TV channel has stood by Seacrest, stating its investigation found there was “insufficient evidence to support the claims” made against him.
