A huge actress has joined Suits to fill Meghan Markle’s void

We didn't see this coming.

Actress Katherine Heigl will join the cast of Suits for the new season, which is due to start filming in Toronto in April. She will play the role of Samantha Wheeler, a new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who will 'challenges the status quo'. No stranger to TV roles, having shot to fame after starring in the series Roswell and later Grey's Anatomy. She also had a string of popular movies; 27 Dresses, Knocked Up and The Ugly Truth, to name a few. But it looks like she's going back to her roots as she's set to appear in the legal drama. As we know, Meghan Markle's character is going to be written out of the show following her engagement to Prince Harry. She has left the world of acting ahead of her May 2018 wedding. Katherine has been drafted in for the new series of the show to fill the gap. Speaking about joining the show, she told USA Network:

"Joining Suits was the perfect organic way to not only collaborate with an [Executive Producer] I admire deeply, but to also become part of a show and cast that I am an immense fan of. I have watched Suits from the very beginning and feel incredibly lucky to be the newest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family."
