New sci-fi horror set to be this year's A Quiet Place - JOE.co.uk

It has one of the best premises for a movie we've heard in a long time.

In 2018, the sci-fi horror A Quiet Place - an original story made on a relatively low budget for Hollywood of $17 million - came out of nowhere to storm the box office and earn rave reviews from critics. It even went on to launch a franchise, with a sequel - also successful commercially and critically - released two years later and at least two more films in the series planned in the next few years. One would imagine that those involved with 65, another upcoming sci-fi horror, want similar success with their project given it is written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who worked on the screenplay for the first A Quiet Place. And like A Quiet Place - which focused on a mother and father trying to protect their children in a world full of killer monsters that cannot see but have an acute sense of hearing - 65 boasts another tantalising premise. Adam Driver - returning to sci-fi after Star Wars - stars in the movie as a pilot named Mills who crash lands on what first appears to be an unknown planet. However, he quickly discovers that he is actually stranded on Earth 65 million years ago when it was populated by dinosaurs. "Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt, Avengers: Infinity War), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive," the plot synopsis reads. Produced by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Evil Dead), 65 will arrive in cinemas on 17 March. You can watch its newly released trailer here. The perfectly crafted life of an upper-middle-class woman (Ashley Madekwe) begins to unravel with the arrival of two shadowy figures in her town in this psychological horror from Netflix out on 22 February.

We Have a Ghost

Finding a ghost named Ernest (David Harbour) haunting their new home turns Kevin (Anthony Mackie) and his family into overnight social media sensations in this Netflix horror comedy out on 24 February.
