United’s transfer business has been hit and miss
It’s been more miss than hit, to be honest. Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 anyway. A billion pounds spent and a lot of it wasted on players like Angel Di Maria, Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But, they do seem to be turning a corner in recent times. Bruno Fernandes looks to be worth every penny, and his arrival appears to be helping Paul Pogba reach his best form too.
Going all the way back to the days of Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata, we rated every United signing over the past seven years, giving them each a mark out of 10.
Some of the ratings you will disagree with. That is inevitable. Please, do not email me about it.
"If you're a defensive midfielder, you're over 6 foot and José Mourinho still doesn't rate you, something is deeply wrong. 5/10."
