Wayne Rooney’s WWE night got even better after his open-handed assault on Wade Barrett

Little* did Wayne Rooney know, when he took his front row seat at WWE Raw (Manchester), that he would become embroiled in the action.

Embroiled he was, however, as Wade Barrett and Sheamus trash-talked the Manchester United captain into action. A slap to Barrett's English mug distracted the Irish wrestler and caused the pair their bout, much to the joy of the local crowd. Following the bouts, Rooney met up with former teammates Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs to meet some WWE royalty. *He was definitely told before when, why, where and how he would slap Barrett.
