Dana White had to convince Conor McGregor to seek medical help after UFC 202

Showing some concern

Owen Roddy’s backstage footage of Conor McGregor at UFC 202 is simply sensational.

You won’t get a better behind-the-scenes look at McGregor than the UFC 202 vlog by his striking coach.

Roddy had been posting a series of video updates – featuring McGregor and Straight Blast Gym teammate Artem Lobov – in the lead up to last Saturday’s event. While many were insightful and great for fans of fight techniques, footage from the big day is the best yet.

It begins with Lobov and some of the SBG team making their way to the T-Mobile Arena. Cody Garbrandt is present and there even a sneak peak of a confrontation ‘No Love’ had with UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

We see Lobov before and after his decision win over Chris Avila before the focus turns to McGregor. He spars, gears up and gets instructions from fight referee John McCarthy before the evocative strains of ‘The Foggy Dew’ ring out.

Roddy is inside the octagon as McGregor is declared the winner, over Nate Diaz. The victor limps back for a medical check backstage before making it back to his dressing room. UFC president Dana White is the one pressing for McGregor to check in to a hospital to get his feet, shins and ankles looked over.

White: “You gotta go to the hospital. Okay?

McGregor: “I’ll have a shower, put on the suit, speak to the media and then I’ll go. I’m honestly brand new.

White: “Thank you… Perfect. Alright man.”

Check out the full nine-minute vlog, it is definitely worth it.

Good to see Uncle Dana showing some concern for his top earner.
