VIDEO: Jurgen Klopp brilliantly puts journalists in their place over Daniel Sturridge quit rumours

“Sorry, can you please start again. Daniel Sturridge said?”

“Who? Who suggested?”

Jurgen Klopp isn’t stupid. He’s not going to get dragged into a back page headline over some rumours.

Reports on Friday suggested that Daniel Sturridge was ready to quit Liverpool over criticism he had been receiving about his injury woes at the club.

So, naturally, Jurgen Klopp was asked about it. But when he asked who suggested these rumours and wasn’t given a straight answer, he burst into fits of laughter.

“If somebody wants to ask me something about what he has heard from Daniel Sturridge, then he can ask me. But not suggestions, I am not interested in this.”

The Liverpool manager confirmed that the striker has been back training for two days on the bounce now and, whilst he hasn’t joined in with football training as of yet, it is progress.

Well, the only way was up.
