Things are not looking good for Aston Villa.

They may have escaped relegation last season, but it seems that Tim Sherwood was merely delaying the inevitable when he guided Villa to safety last term. A poor start to the season cost Sherwood his job, but things haven't looked any better under his replacement Remi Garde. The Frenchman saw his side fall to their heaviest home league defeat since before the Second World War against Liverpool on Sunday, with even Kolo Toure getting on the scoresheet. After the game, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher had absolutely no sympathy for Villa, claiming the Midlanders were "an embarrassment" who will be closer to the bottom of the Championship than the top next season.
