Arsenal fans are getting their meltdowns in early this season.
Normally, a second-place finish followed by a £30m splurge on a new midfielder would be considered solid preparation for a Premier League campaign.
But this is no normal season.
Competitors have strengthened even more than the Gunners - many in the managerial department - and the stakes are higher.
Even before the opening game of the season, questions were asked of Arsene Wenger's preparations, both defensive and attacking, and some began to fear a sub-fourth place finish for the first time since the Frenchman took over.
