Sergio Aguero could miss Manchester derby after FA hit him with violent conduct charge

 

Sergio Aguero *has* been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct in Manchester City's victory over West Ham.

The Argentine appeared to elbow Winston Reid during the second half of the match, an incident that the FA have confirmed went unseen by referee Andre Marriner. In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the FA have confirmed that Aguero, who has not reported for international duty with Argentina because of an injury, has until 6pm on Wednesday to reply to the charge. The incident will now be referred to a panel of three former elite match officials, who will review the video footage of the incident to determine whether they deem it a sending-off offence. Aguero failed to find the net in the game against West Ham - the first time this season he's failed to register a goal. His other three outings have yielded six goals, so it's hardly a surprise that United supporters are keen to see their neighbours' most potent goal threat suspended for the match on September 10.
