Manchester United are set to announce the sacking of manager Louis van Gaal.

It appears that the worst kept secret in football will be announced at 1pm this afternoon with the news that Louis Van Gaal's tenure at Man Utd is coming to an end. United finished 15 points behind champions Leicester City and failure to reach the 2016/17 Champions League was compounded by a truly dismal campaign in the current edition of Europe's elite club competition. United were knocked out of a group containing PSV, Wolfsburg and CSKA Moscow, before falling to Liverpool in the Europa League. https://twitter.com/ncustisTheSun/status/734682740407308289 It seems that an FA Cup win wasn't enough to convince United supporters of Van Gaal's 'philosophy'. It has been suggested that the club will be making a statement at 1pm this afternoon, when it's widely believed the Dutchman will say his goodbyes. To further emphasise this, LMA lawyers have already arrived at United's United's Carrington training complex. https://twitter.com/bbcsport_david/status/734666485667336192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/TelegraphDucker/status/734694073739694080 https://twitter.com/JamesRobsonMEN/status/734693168193667072 https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/734691976600293376
