Manchester United supporters - the vast, vast majority of them at least - won't want to be associated with the actions of a few but this has left a bitter taste in for many football fans.
Ahead of the Europa League round of 16 second leg clash between United and Liverpool, the away fans travelling in to Old Trafford were greeted with an unsightly message on the M602 motorway towards Manchester.
A huge banner draping from a bridge above the motorway read, 'murderers.' And, on it, it included the date of the Hillsborough disaster which took place on April 15 1989.

Police were said to have eventually intervened and withdrew the banner.

But it is not a welcome start to a meeting between two giant and proud clubs.
