GoPro footage of Russian hooligans rampaging shows what England fans had to deal with

They were organised.

Robert Redmond

This shows how organised the Russian hooligans were last weekend.

A group of around 300 hooligans targeted the country’s game against England on Saturday in Marseilles, travelling to Geneva in Switzerland by flight, before driving to the city in the south of France.

They then attacked every group of England fans they could find, and ran rampage throughout the city.

The scale of the attack was such that some hooligans wore gum shields and MMA gloves, and one hooligan even attached a GoPro camera to himself as he and the group tore through the city on Saturday afternoon.

The video lasts six minutes, and is a troubling watch.

Uefa have fined the Russian FA €150,000 and given them a “suspended disqualification” from Euro 2016 because of the crowd trouble at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday.
