Garth Crooks went full Garth Crooks in his assessment of Alberto Moreno’s talents

Alberto Moreno had about as bad a game as it's possible to have while still ending up on the winning side.

The Liverpool left-back gave away a penalty against Arsenal and was caught out for Theo Walcott's opener, but some leaky defending from Arsenal meant the visitors walked away with a 4-3 win. Garth Crooks tore into the Spaniard after the game, but his BBC column might have gone a bit too far. https://twitter.com/A_Travers211/status/765115378108366848 Crooks seemed to ignore a few things, namely:

• Liverpool have 10 other players
• Moreno might not even be the regular starting left-back
• He played 50 games last season and Liverpool finished in the top half of the Premier League and reached two cup finals.

Elsewhere, the former Tottenham striker went with what looks like an orthodox 4-3-3 until you look at his choice of central midfielders. https://twitter.com/BenMcAleer1/status/765121124871077888 While they may have produced three goals between them, we're not sure the combination of Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Robert Snodgrass would be able to win the ball in order to use it. By Crooks' standards it isn't the most ridiculous line-up - that honour goes to this 3-1-1-5 formation (or is is a 3-1-6) which would test Kurt Zouma's midfield abilities to their limit.
