Professional poker player Joe McKeehen became millions of pounds richer overnight after winning the World Series of Poker Main Event.

McKeehen, a 24-year-old from Pennsylvania, USA, outlasted more than 6,000 other players to win the $7.7m (£5.1m) first prize. Three players returned on Tuesday to play down to a winner, with McKeehen beating fellow American Josh Beckley heads-up.
