David Cameron claims seven terror attacks have been prevented in the UK in the last six months

David Cameron has revealed that UK intelligence services have prevented seven attacks in the past six months.

The Prime Minister was speaking on the Today programme on BBC Radio 4. Indicating that the plots were on a smaller scale than the atrocities seen in Paris on Friday, he admitted the attacks on the French capital were "the sort of thing we have been preparing for". Speaking from Turkey, where he is attending the G20 summit, Mr. Cameron warned that Britain faced a struggle against IS likely to last a generation. He said the UK is boosting its intelligence services in a bid to combat the threat of terrorism. The PM also urged Britons to continue to lead normal lives - adding that he would take his children to England's friendly with France at Wembley on Tuesday night.
