You don't even have to look out of the window to know if it's a windy day in Manchester.

The Beetham Tower is famous for making a peculiar whistling sound whenever it's a bit bit breezy, and has become the stuff of legend around the city - it even have its own Twitter page. https://twitter.com/AngryBeetham/status/669821712087785472 As 80mph winds blasted through the city over the weekend, the strange droning noise returned and was heard from all corners of Manchester. Just listen to the din... https://youtu.be/ZRCcGUvmZDE Said to be generated by strong winds meeting the building's glass blade, Ian Simpson, the architect who designed it, was forced to apologise for the noise back in 2012. https://twitter.com/andrewyee/status/670961160578027521 At least some Mancunians have grown used to it. https://twitter.com/ppolo99/status/582685773041917952
