We’ve got some good news and some bad news about Carpool Karaoke

Carpool Karaoke has been so successful this year that it's been pretty difficult to avoid, even if you wanted to.

The instantaneous joy it brings to its viewers is undeniable so it's no wonder that tech giants Apple have moved in to try emanate its success. According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter, Apple have commissioned 16 special episodes of the segment to stream weekly from Apple Music. That's the good news. Reports suggest the deal is in a bid to attract more people to the $10-a-month service. Sadly James Corden isn’t expected to take the wheel. Which is the bad news (depending on your view of James Corden, but he does do a great job).

"We love music, and 'Carpool Karaoke' celebrates it in a fun and unique way that is a hit with audiences of all ages," Apple's Eddie Cue told Variety. "It's a perfect fit for Apple Music—bringing subscribers exclusive access to their favourite artists and celebrities who come along for the ride."

Carpool Karaoke will be produced by CBS Television Studios - the production company of Late Late Show. Producer Ben Winston is expected to expand on the segment's format with celebrity guests surprising fans during their ride. The show is also being replicated elsewhere on Spike TV. According to Vanity Fair, their new show Caraoke Showdown will be hosted by Craig Robinson.
