This Russian football fan was given the Gladiators treatment by stewards

Anyone who grew up in the UK in the 90s will have been aware of the iconic TV show 'Gladiators'.

Pitting regular men and women up against elite athletes, if featured memorable games such as 'Atlaspheres', 'Hang Tough' and 'The Wall'.

But one of our favourites to this day is the ever-popular 'Gauntlet', where the contenders have to get past five gladiators by any means possible.

It seems the show made it to Russia, too, where it earned some new fans in the stewards at football club Zenit St Petersburg. Spartak Moscow were in town for Zenit's last league game, and when a supporter of the away side tried to get onto the pitch, the gauntlet assembled.
