The discovery of the key to the Toyota in Steven Avery's trailer with his DNA on it, and the car being abandoned in the 53-year-old's auto salvage lot, played a significant part in the prosecution's arguments.
It was not found on the first five searches of the property, but showed up on the sixth occasion, and Earl claimed his statements about the car had been raised at the time of the case but seemingly not acted upon.
Earl Avery also raised questions about the lack of blood at the alleged murder scene, suggesting there would theoretically be "a lot of blood" in such a scenario.
"They say they cleaned up in the garage, but there's all dust and everything all over everything. How do you clean up and then put the dust back?" he added.
