Making a Murderer gripped the world with opinions split over Steven Avery's guilt.

Without a definite conclusion to the series, the world was left with a shared anxiety over the conviction of a man who may or may not be innocent. Since becoming available on Netflix, both the prosecution and the defence have spoken out about omitted evidence and new pieces of information. Thankfully, creators of the show, Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi, have said that they are gathering new evidence with the view to producing further episodes. Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, Ricciardi said: "I think today marks four weeks since the series launched and what we've managed to do in the past four weeks is have several phone calls with Steven Avery which we have recorded with an eye toward including them in future episodes. "As we said before, in relation to this story, this story is ongoing, these cases are open," said Demos. "It's real-life so you don't know what's going to happen. If there are significant developments, we will be there. And we are looking at other stories, as well." Netflix, meanwhile, have said they are interested in producing a second season but have yet to officially give it the green light.
